Crown Thinning
Making the canopy less dense without making it smaller.
Thinning removes a share of the smaller branches from right through the canopy so more light and air pass between them. The outline of the tree stays where it is; it simply stops being a solid block.
We take evenly from the whole crown rather than stripping the inside out, and prioritise the health of the tree. A well-thinned tree moves better in wind, and the ground beneath it dries out faster, which helps with damp walls, moss and thin grass.
